is owned and operated by Egbet Abraha (she/they) in Mesa, Arizona. Founded in November of 2024, the opening of this business created a chance to have more control of their work/life balance and escape the burn out cycles that come with working for corporations. 

While glad to not work in corporate technology any longer, Egbet still enjoys incorporating her technical acumen into every service by constantly evaluating how to improve the client's experience and nail health. She loves to stay up to date with the latest advancements in the nail industry and podiatry so her clients are receiving the best there is. 

Having always been on the quieter side, you can expect peaceful appointments with Egbet. Clients are welcome to ask questions about her processes, as their excitement about the rituals and science of manicures and pedicures can fill multiple appointments' worth of conversation. While they do have a strong preference for silent appointments, you may occasionally hear her talking about the loved ones that help run Novelty of Nails, the shows/books/games she's engaging in lately, or even challenging you with silly "What would you do if..." scenarios.

Egbet is a Black, neurodivergent woman, and child of immigrants. The intersection of these identities shape Novelty of Nails' values and how every business decision is made. Outside of creating a fulfilling and sustainable livelihood, Egbet's underlying hope is to offer a safe space for both herself and her clients to express themselves.
